Technical Requirements for Trading Psychology Programs
Everything you need to participate fully in our online learning environment starting September 2025
Look, we're not asking for a supercomputer here. Our programs run on pretty standard equipment because we want you focused on developing mental discipline, not troubleshooting your tech. That said, there are some baseline requirements that'll make your learning experience smooth and frustration-free.
Before diving into hardware specs, here's what matters most: a stable internet connection and a quiet space where you can focus. The best trading psychology in the world won't help if you're constantly buffering during live sessions or getting interrupted every five minutes.
Hardware You'll Need
We've tested our platform across dozens of devices. Most laptops or desktops from the past five years handle everything without breaking a sweat. Here's what we recommend:
Computer Specifications
- Processor: Intel Core i5 or equivalent (i3 works but might lag during video playback)
- RAM: 8GB minimum, 16GB if you like keeping multiple tabs open
- Storage: At least 20GB free space for course materials and recording sessions
- Screen: 13-inch minimum—you'll be looking at charts and journal entries side by side
- Webcam: Built-in is fine, but a separate HD camera helps during group sessions
- Microphone: Decent quality matters more than you'd think for discussion groups
One of our students last year tried running everything on a 2012 laptop with 4GB RAM. It worked, technically. But he upgraded three weeks in because the constant freezing was driving him nuts during journal review sessions.
Internet Connection
This is where things get real. You can have the fanciest computer in Taiwan, but a spotty connection will wreck your experience.
- Download speed: 25 Mbps minimum, 50 Mbps recommended
- Upload speed: 10 Mbps for smooth video participation
- Wired connection beats WiFi every time for stability
- Mobile hotspot as backup—you never know when your ISP decides to have a bad day
Operating Systems
We're platform agnostic. Use what you're comfortable with.
- Windows 10 or 11
- macOS 10.15 or newer
- Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+ tested)
- ChromeOS works for most activities
Browser Requirements
Our platform works best on updated browsers. No need for anything exotic.
- Chrome 100+ (our primary test browser)
- Firefox 98+ runs everything smoothly
- Safari 15+ for Mac users
- Edge 100+ if that's your preference
Mobile Access
You can access materials on your phone or tablet, though it's not ideal for everything.
- iOS 14+ or Android 10+
- Great for reviewing notes and quick check-ins
- Live sessions possible but screen size matters
- Download mobile app for offline access
Accessibility Features
Our platform supports screen readers and keyboard navigation throughout.
- NVDA and JAWS compatible
- Adjustable text size and contrast
- Closed captions on all video content
- Transcripts available for audio materials
Software and Tools
Most of what you need comes free or we provide it. You won't be spending hundreds on fancy programs.
Video Conferencing
Zoom for live sessions (free account works). Occasional Microsoft Teams for guest speakers.
Document Access
Google Workspace or Microsoft Office for worksheets and templates. LibreOffice is fine too.
PDF Reader
Adobe Reader or any alternative. You'll be downloading a lot of psychology frameworks and guides.
Trading Platform
We demonstrate on TradingView free tier. Use whatever platform you actually trade on though.
Journal Software
We provide access to our proprietary trading journal tool. Works in any browser.
Note-Taking
Notion, Evernote, OneNote—whatever fits your workflow. Plain text files work too.

Technical Support and Setup Help
We run a tech check session two weeks before programs start. It's optional but about 80% of students show up, and for good reason. Better to discover your microphone sounds like you're underwater now than during your first group discussion.
Our support team handles setup questions pretty quickly—usually within a few hours during Taiwan business hours. Evening and weekend responses might take longer, but we've got documentation for most common issues.
Here's something that surprises people: we record every live session. Miss something because your connection dropped? You can watch the replay. This isn't just nice to have—it's essential when you're juggling a full-time job and learning trading psychology.
And if you're in Taichung, we occasionally run in-person tech workshops at our office on Wenxin Road. Not mandatory, but helpful if you prefer face-to-face troubleshooting.
Pro tip from someone who's seen every tech disaster imaginable: test everything the day before your first session, not five minutes before. You'd be amazed how many "urgent" issues are actually just Windows updates that needed to run.
